“The Z” is a behemoth, mural-splashed, 10-floor parking garage that can accommodate 1,300 vehicles in downtown Detroit.
Heidelberg Project creator Tyree Guyton wanted to brighten up the blight.
The “House of Soul” was adorned with vintage records and was a major installation at the Heidelberg Project.
It was the second fire to strike the world-famous art installation on Detroit’s east side in the past year.
Melted plastic dolls, charred metal chairs and soot-covered stuffed animals poked out of the house.
