Most people don’t mess with popular Detroit rap group DoughBoyz CashOut.
They got money, some fame and a history of violence.
But that didn’t stop a large group of east-side rappers and friends from brutally beating DoughBoyz CashOut member HBK and about four others at Cobo Hall on Wednesday night. HBK was knocked out and his chain necklace stolen. He was kicked while unconscious.
DoughBoyz CashOut, which includes Payroll, Doughboy Quis and Doughboy Dre, are known for their raw tales of street life, money and making it big. They reached a new level of success earlier this year by signing a deal with Young Jeezy’s label, CTE World.
Wednesday’s attack triggered unusually candid social media comments about retaliation.
East-side rappers IceWear Vezzo and Green Guy Webbie took credit for the beating.
DoughBoyz CashOut earned a thuggish reputation after two videos surfaced of them beating up EMU college students and humiliating women at a hotel.
