Video: Napoleon says God saved him to run for mayor of Detroit

Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon will never forget the gun pointed at his head.

The man, who was convicted of murder in a separate case, never pulled the trigger.

“God spared me for a reason,” Napoleon said at a church campaign event last week. “I believe that reason is why I stand here today.”

Napoleon is far from the only Detroit politician to claim God is on his side.
