Stadium Lofts in Indianapolis shows what could have happened with Tiger Stadium

One of the most ambitious plans to preserve Tiger Stadium called for transforming the ballpark into lofts and commercial space.

But city officials wanted none of it and demolished the nearly 100-year-old park in 2009.

While the historic site sits empty in Corktown, high-end lofts in Indianapolis are being built around a minor league ballpark. The 138-unit complex, called Stadium Lofts, is expected to be complete in August.
