WDIV reporter Lauren Podell was preparing a live report from a fire this morning when she dropped a loud F-bomb during the live broadcast.
Channel 4 was reporting on what it called “an entire city block torched by a ferocious fire” when an anchor asked Podell to describe the scene.
“I don’t know when we’re going on; either does Jim,” Podell said as the camera trained on the back of a building. “I can’t get this fucking in there.”
In perhaps the fastest apology in TV news history, an anchor quickly chimed in, “We apologize for that.”
To this we say, “No need. It’s refreshing to see some passion in journalism.”
