Protesters are planning to stage a “die-in” at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit on Thursday afternoon in response to a grand jury’s decision not to indict a New York City cop for killing Eric Garner, a black man who was selling individual cigarettes.

The die-in, in which participants lie down as if they’re dead, is scheduled for 12:03 p.m. at the downtown park.

Protests broke out Wednesday evening in New York and other cities after the grand jury decision.

Last week in Detroit, protesters blocked freeways and barged into Wayne State University buildings.
