Usually police want to take guns off the street.
Not in Center Line, where the police department plans to sell more than five dozen firearms to the public.
The suburban Detroit city is preparing to sell 40 handguns and 26 long guns in an online auction at Repocast.com, city officials confirmed today.
The firearms vary from service weapons to seized handguns.
Center Line City Council recently approved the gun sale.
The auction also will include computer equipment, police cars and a golf cart.
The list of guns is not yet available.
