At least two residents were injured at the 20-story Regency Towers at 1935 Chene. One woman suffered a heart attack in the lobby, but paramedics took more than a half hour to arrive.
The fire broke out shortly after 8:40 p.m., and arriving firefighters called a second-alarm for more help.
We featured Regency Towers in a series about poor management after moving in to investigate the treatment of low-income residents.
