Three Grosse Pointe Woods teenagers who were caught on surveillance spray-painting two downtown Detroit buildings will perform 60 hours of community service and avoid jail.
Isabella Mary Meteer, 18, Mackenzie Lynn Snitgen and Mary Elizabeth Harder, both 17, had faced up to five years in prison on malicious destruction of property charges but reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Some of the community service will include cleaning graffiti in Detroit, a judge said Monday during sentencing in Wayne County Circuit Court.
The teens, who spray-painted “Izzy,” “bitch,” “fuck,” and “Welcome to Detroit” on the sides of buildings, also were ordered to pay a total of $2,000 for the damage and court fees.
The teens were the first to be arrested under a new graffiti crackdown by the Detroit Police Department following our series on some of the city’s most destructive graffiti vandals. Earlier this moth police arrested alleged vandals who belong to a group known as TCK Crew, which is responsible for dozens of tags across the city.
