At 12:40 a.m. Sunday, police arrested the suspect, who was identified as 45-year-old Jason Dalton.

Police said the shootings appeared to be random.

“We have somebody just driving around, finding people and shooting them dead in their tracks,” Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas told WoodTV.com before the suspect was arrested.

Shortly after the arrest, police said they have no idea what motivated the shootings.

The violence started at a townhouse in Richland Township at about 6 p.m. Thursday, when a woman was shot multiple times and rushed to the hospital in serious condition.

Around 10 p.m., a father and son were shot dead outside of a Kia dealership in Kalamazoo. About 20 minutes later, four people, were shot and killed in a parking lot at Cracker Barrel in nearby Texas Township. A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition.
