Body found floating in Detroit River near Joe Louis Arena on Labor Day

A body was found floating in the Detroit River near the Joe Louis Arena late Monday morning.

Firefighters and the U.S. Coast Guard were called to the river after someone spotted the body from the Riverfront Apartments shortly after 10 a.m.

The body was recovered about a half hour later.

Police are investigating.
