Detroit Police Chief James Craig hasn’t made a lot of friends in the criminal community since taking the helm in July.
His department has conducted five major crime sweeps and averages 35 drug raidsĀ a week.
On Friday, the chief received a threat on social media: “We have to clamp him out,” which is slang for killing him, the post read.

Craig didn’t divulge details of the threat Sunday but said the suspect likely is part of a criminal enterprise.
The chief said he won’t be deterred.
He confirmed that the FBI and state police also are investigating.
