On this day in 1974, Rollo S. Vest joins the ancestors.
He was 60.
An entertainment booking agent and newspaper columnist who attended Miller High and Cass Technical High School, Vest was largely credited with coining the name of the wildly popular African-American business and cultural district of the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s known as Paradise Valley.
