On this day in 1968, Diana Ross & the Supremes’ “Love Child” album is released on the Motown Records label.
It includes the single of the same name, which will become the trio’s 11th No.1 hit. Interestingly enough, members Mary Wilson and Cindy Birdsong do not sing on the title track. Rather, it is Motown session singers the Andantes who perform background vocals on the single “Love Child.”
