Speeding to a hospital after his 21-year-old sister shot herself at the family’s Detroit bar, Ricky Tucker was killed when the car he was driving slammed into an SUV at an intersection early this morning.
Authorities said Ricky Tucker’s sister committed suicide at her family’s Texas Bar on Kercheval at about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Family members told WDIV that Tucker was struggling with depression.
“It happened so fast. It was like, bam, bam, one thing after another,” an uncle, Eddie Falbo, said.
Tucker was rushing to the hospital when he failed to stop at the intersection of East Warren and Woodhall, slamming into an SUV. The driver of the SUV escaped serious injuries.
“He was going to see his sister and it’s messed up for that to happen,” Falbo told WDIV. “It’s hard for the whole family. It’s hard. It’s very, very hard.”
