Dave Agema, the Michigan Republican National committeeman who warned on Facebook that public schools are turning students into homosexuals, said he won’t resign and is pledging to continue his anti-gay crusade.
Dozens of Republicans are urging Agema to step down, saying his intolerance and paranoia represent an ultra-conservative wing of the party that is damaging the GOP’s credibility.
Agema took to Facebook again Sunday to declare his intention to keep the party socially conservative, saying tolerant positions on the LGBT community would “cause great harm to society.”
Among those calling for Ageman’s resignation is Brad Fingeroot, an Oakland County Young Republican who posted a petition urging Agema to step down.
“Virtuous decorum is symbolic of a principled man of integrity,” Fingeroot posted on Agema’s Facebook page. “Let’s keep the smut on the sidelines.

Agema responded that he has solid proof that gay people are “filthy” pedophiles prone to murder and violence.
“Deal with it,” Agema wrote to Fingeroot, pointing to what he says are infallible studies. “You want to change the landscape of our party in a direction that has not been accepted for over 230 years. I’m trying to maintain or [SIC] platform. You are trying to change it. Ask yourself what is {SIC} mean?. Ask yourself what facts you are willing to accept or whose studies are valid.”
Agema, a former state representative, cites most of his information on a report by Dr. Frank Joseph, widely criticized for relying on bad science to oppose the LGBT community.
