A 36-year-old man who admitted Saturday he shot four people – two fatally – tried to turn himself into Detroit police but cops never arrived, the Motor City Muckraker has learned.
The man is accused of shooting four men at a party; the survivors were in serious condition Sunday.
The unidentified suspect tried to surrender at a Detroit fire station, but officers never arrived.
So the man went to a police station and was finally arrested.
Police said they were too busy to respond.
“Due to patrols being busy handling high priority runs, no units were dispatched,” police said in a statement.
Mayor Dave Bing has made deep cuts to the police department, including 10% pay cuts and 12-hour workdays for already fatigued officers.

The cuts come as the state demands debilitating budget reductions to offset more than a decade of overspending.
