Techno guru envisions new beginning for long-abandoned Fisher Body

The founder of a German nightclub and record label wants to transform the hulking and abandoned Fisher Body Plant 21 in Detroit into something entirely different.

On this day in 1962, Juan Atkins was born. Along with 2 friends, he will create the genre of music we now call “techno.”
