Judge dismisses PPO against ex-Police Chief Godbee

Chief-Godbee-sm.jpgA judge today dismissed the personal protection order against former Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee because his ex-fiancé was not cooperating and did not show up for court.

Godbee has maintained his innocence since 28-year-old Merica Patterson filed the order against him earlier this month, saying the former chief threatened her for weeks and used FBI contacts to spy on her.

In a request to terminate the PPO in Oakland County Circuit Court, Godbee, who is a Baptist pastor, called the allegations nonsense and said his contact with her was primarily limited to e-mails containing positive messages and Bible verses.

“I did not make threats, and I did not do or say anything that would make a reasonable person fear violence or interference with her freedom,” Godbee wrote in the request.

Godbee, 46, said he became engaged to be married with Patterson during a cruise in the Bahamas on Dec. 10 but they broke up soon after.

Since resigning in October 2012 amid an alleged sex scandal, Godbee immersed himself into the church and said he’s healing spiritually.

“I believe firmly in the redemption power of the blood of Jesus,” Godbee posted on Facebook. “I have fought hard to overcome some very significant trauma in my life, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, I grow daily, stronger and a better man for it.”

ok so she was younger and a bit kookie and also seemed pretty crafty and manipulative. he used his power and mind games to keep a younger hot chick engaged in their relationship.if he worked at a hardware store she wouldnt have anything to do with him. now all of a sudden she wont show up and wont cooperate. hmmmmmmmmmmmm thats exactly what happens when a witness in detroit either gets bought off or scared off to testify or show up in court.

then again maybe it was just the reverends power of suggestions and ministering words that made that harlot see the light? wouldnt it be funny if she met george cushingberry at a function and minister george also tried to mentor her? the facebook fights, court actions, police calls, text messages, tweets and shopping trips would be magical. maybe pastors cush and godbee could fight over her in the parking lot at the penthouse because they both showed up on amateur night with flowers and chocolate for her
