A high-end leather retailer is opening up in the former Tomboy Market building, which often reeked of rotten meat.
The Bronx Bar has reopened after bricks from a neighboring apartment crashed through the rear of the building, damaging the kitchen and bathroom late last week.
The restaurant is expected to open this weekend and will seat about 80 people.
Tomboy Market was a small grocer that served the Cass Corridor’s lower-income residents for years.
Beginning next week, Second Avenue in the Cass Corridor and Midtown will become a two-way street, a sign of the incredible decline of the street since the 1930s.
