The city of Detroit’s new “storyteller,” hired by Mayor Mike Duggan during an election year, is now turning his attention to one of the mayor’s biggest critics – the Metro Times.
Many black and Latino residents are asking billionaire Dan Gilbert and his company today, “Is this really how you see Detroit?”
Aaron Foley will write stories about Detroiters who are often ignored by the mainstream media.
Author Aaron Foley offers “advice on everything from buying and rehabbing a house to not sounding like a completely uninformed racist when you talk to a black person.”
“Only realizing now that none of those businesses were black-owned and I deeply regret the omission!” the reporter tweeted.
