Ambassador bridge

A man who parked his car on the Ambassador Bridge before jumping to his death late Monday morning was on his way to Canada before being denied entrance into the country.

The 35-year-old man from Kingwood, Texas, turned around before finding a spot to jump, police said.

The man landed on a concrete pier below the bridge shortly before 11:30 a.m. in what authorities say was likely a suicide attempt.

Police did not release his name.

It’s unclear why the man jumped or why he was denied entrance into Canada.

Authorities said the incident didn’t interrupt the flow of traffic and remains under investigation.
