Protesters plan to build a wall to prevent Trump from speaking in Detroit

Protesters plan to build a human wall to prevent Donald Trump from speaking at the Detroit Economic Club at the Renaissance Center on Monday afternoon.

Trump is scheduled to speak at noon, but protesters hope to keep him from reaching the building.

The protest is being organized by a Facebook group called “Cockroach Watch.” It’s a fitting protest since Trump continues to pledge to build a wall at the Mexican border.

Other rallies also are planned Monday to call attention to Trump’s hateful, divisive rhetoric.

While the Detroit Economic Club has hosted other presidential candidates, this is by far the most controversial, especially in a city where Trump is largely despised for berating immigrants, Muslims, Black Lives Matters and a family whose Army captain son was killed in Iraq.
