Detroit EMS workers charged with assaulting man who was having a seizure

Two Detroit EMS workers are accused of punching and slapping a man in the face while he was having a seizure.

Byron Beales, 37, and Brian Bachynski, 25, were arraigned today on charges of aggravated assault.

The children of the victim said they saw the medics hittingĀ their father while he was being transported to a hospital from his home on the 21000 block of Karl Street.

“The man was observed to have a red eye and a bruised face when he arrived at a local hospital for treatment,” the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
