A 9-year-old was killed tonight after being shot in the face on Detroit’s east side, police said.

Police are trying to determine whether the shooting at a house at Roxbury and Britian was accidental or intentional.  Police said several children were in the home when the boy was shot shortly after 9 p.m. It wasn’t immediately clear whether an adult was home at the time.

The boy was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police were at the scene interviewing family members and witnesses.
