Detroit police are on the scene of a shooting on Gratiot near the Eastern Market near downtown Detroit.

A witness said five shots rang out in front of Gratiot Central Market shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday, injuring one person. The shooter fled south on Riopelle.

People ducked behind the counter of Trinosophes, a coffee shop on Gratiot.

It wasn’t immediately clear if the shooter was apprehended. The victim was transported to the hospital.

Police said the shooting stems from an argument Monday.
