Maserati Super Bowl ad looks a lot like Chyrlser’s 2011 ads, even features Detroit

Italian luxury carmaker Maserati featured a Super Bowl ad tonight that looked a lot like Chrysler’s widely successful commercial two years ago.

The ad includes similarly haunting music and scenes of blue-collar workers and Detroit. The theme is the same – hard work pays off.

“As long as we work hard, trust in our guts, our hearts, then we our ready,” the narrator says in the ad.

In the Chrysler ad, the narrator said Detroit’s comeback is about “hard work and conviction and the know-how that runs generations deep in every last one of us.”

The similarities might not be much of a surprise since Fiat Chrysler Automobiles now includes Maserati and its new Ghibli.
