Detroit rapper casual, cocky about brutal assault at Cobo (video)

Detroit rapper HBK of Doughboyz Cashout was nonchalant and even cocky as he responded to questions about a brawl at Cobo Hall that left him knocked out and stripped off his valuable chain on Thanksgiving eve.

The video of his beating was widely circulated, and many of his fans threatened to retaliate against the east-side attackers, including Icewear Vezzo and Green Guy Webbie. Some fans even placed a bounty on the east-siders’ heads.

But in a video released on CTRLDET.com, HBK shrugged off the attack.

“I’ve been in the hood for so fucking long; I got in shootouts and almost got killed,” HBK said. “This is Detroit. Shit happens.”

HBK said he was jumped at Cobo while he was fighting one-on-one with one of the east-side clan.

“If it’s your man fighting, you’re supposed to jump in,” HBK said.

“That’s how I feel. Everybody takes a loss.”

But, HBK warned, no one should be messing with him.

“I’m a boss,” HBK bragged. “I’m a superstar around this bitch.”

Young Jeezy, who is performing at the Masonic Temple on Dec. 28, signed the Doughboyz to his Atlantic-distributed CTE label earlier this year, giving the west-side rappers new fame.
