Fire Prairie_9436Two brazen men in a pickup truck threw a firebomb through the window of a home on Detroit’s west side shortly after 1 p.m. today, killing two children, ages 1 and 4.

Firefighters rushed into the burning home and returned with the small children, Damion and Mekhi, who couldn’t be resuscitate.

Police are looking for a black Ford F-150.

The father of the children said he was at a neighbor’s house when the house caught fire.

“People are out here terrorizing our neighborhood,” Gerald Johnson, who lives nearby, told me. “They don’t care how old you are. Death means nothing to them.”

The firebombing occurred on the 6800 block of Prairie Street, which is near 6 Mile and Livernois. Another house on the street was firebombed recently, neighbors said.

Police also are looking for a black Ford F-150. The men are described as black, in their 30s, wearing mostly black.
