Melted plastic dolls, charred metal chairs and soot-covered stuffed animals poked out of the house, which was flattened. A fire earlier this year gutted much of the house, but artists salvaged the building by assembling art around it.
The fire didn’t dampen the spirits of volunteers, who spent the morning and afternoon cleaning up the debris.
