Detroiter chooses death over arrest, pledging ‘Not going back to jail’

MapA 25-year-old man wanted for attempted murder refused to surrender to police and instead turned a gun on himself Monday night, committing suicide, police said this morning.

The suspect “indicated he wasn’t going back to jail” and chose the quick way out, police said.
