Police nab man accused of shooting pregnant woman for refusing sex

FortA 55-year-old man accused of shooting a young pregnant woman for refusing to have sex with him in his car this morning was arrested in Brownstown, Mich., police said this evening.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, is expected to be charged Wednesday.

Police said the 21-year-old woman, who is a few months pregnant and was a passenger in the car, was shot in the body after turning down sex from the driver who had parked behind a building on the 6100 block of West Fort. The victim managed to flee and was in temporary serious condition this evening, police said.

It’s unclear how the suspect and victim knew each other.
