Suburban woman found dead in bullet-riddled SUV on I-75 in Detroit, closing freeway

I-75The driver of an MDOT Courtesy van made a gruesome discovery along I-75 near Mack in Detroit early this morning.

The northbound driver pulled up to a bullet-riddled GMC SUV at 3:40 a.m. and peered inside: A 32-year-old woman was slumped over the wheel, covered in blood.

The victim was Ann Scavone of Sterling Heights, police said today.

The freeway was closed for several hours while police collected evidence and tried to retrace what had happened.

No suspects have been identified, and as of 5:30 p.m. today, no one was in custody.
