Photos: Cass Tech remembered a year later

A year ago this month, demolition crews knocked down the final walls of the storied, mammoth Cass Tech High School in Detroit, shattering hopes of reviving the 93-year-old building.

Dozens of alumni gathered to watch the final days of a school that taught comedian Lily Tomlin, singer Diana Ross, musician Jack White, artist Ray Johnson and former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

Over the week, we’ll bring you photos, videos and stories about the school. You’ll see discarded art salvaged at the last minute and interviews with alumni.
